About Morbo and Current Progression
Morbo is a Horde guild on the Arygos realm of World of Warcraft. We used to be Tao on Garrosh and Morbo on the Medivh realm, where we raided since the days of Molten Core, and later became one of the top guilds during Sunwell. We came to Arygos to escape server lag and further our raiding progression. Our current focus is ICC, but we do make it a point to go back and complete older Wrath of the Lich King content as we have time or see fit.
25-man Progression:
- 11/12 ICC
- 4/5 TOGC
- 5/5 TOC
- 13/14 Ulduar (6/9 Hardmodes)
Raid Times and Attendance
We maintain a four day a week raid schedule. 25-man raids are done on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7pm EST to 11pm EST. Raid invites go out at approximately 6:50pm EST, and those who are expecting to raid need to be on sometime before then. 10-mans are done on the weekends, and in many cases formal groups are setup by the guild to help ensure everyone gets into a group. Members are expected to maintain high attendance, and if you ever need to miss a raid you will need to contact an officer ahead of time, or post in the Vacation/Time Off section of the forums. Failure to post or some how notify the officers of your absence ahead of time, except under extreme circumstances (power outages, car accidents, house fires, etc.), may negatively affect your position in the guild, and will for sure negatively affect your trial period.
Before/During Raids
Prior to raids everyone, recruits especially, are expected to have read up on fights they haven’t yet experienced, and come to the raid with some basic knowledge of the fight. Generally we’ll make you aware of our specific strat, but we won’t always tell you all of the abilities, what they do, and how to avoid them – that’s on you to know before you come into the raid. We also expect our members to have ample consumables for the night. This includes, but isn’t limited to, flasks, food, and reagents. If you have any questions about a raid, how we do something in a raid, or anything else for that matter, we expect you to at least make an effort to get the questions answered before the raid so we don’t need to spend time talking to one person about something. Obviously questions can come up during a raid, and we highly encourage you to ask questions, but if you have one before the raid – ask before the raid, it’s as simple as that.
All members are expected to maintain their gear, gems/enchants, spec, etc. based on talent/ability changes and any other outside factors that could affect performance if you don’t make changes. Members are also expected to show a high level or awareness in raids while still being able to do their jobs. That means you can’t just stop doing your job because there’s all of a sudden fire you need to move out of, and you can’t just stand in fire because you need to keep doing your job. This of course varies fight to fight, but it’s really easy to tell when someone has a one track mind. If it’s found you are under performing for any reason, you generally won’t just be kicked right off the bat. We do our best to work with people and make sure it’s not just new guild anxiety. So don’t let it get to you if you make one mistake, just look to correct it and not repeat it.
Loot
Loot is done with a loot council. The way it works is when an item drops it is linked in a raid warning, and everyone interested sends a tell with what they currently have and would be replacing with the item that dropped. Loot is then awarded based on performance, attendance, strength of upgrade, and the time it’s been since you last received an item. Generally Raiders are given priority over Recruits, so don’t expect to get a ton of loot as a recruit, but at the same time don’t expect to get none. It regularly happens that on farm content our Raiders no longer need too many things, so always be sure you put in a bid to avoid an item going to an offspec or getting disenchanted!
Application and Trial Process
Applications are reviewed for 24-48 hours. All players will receive a response about whether their application has been accepted or not. Cross server applicants will receive an answer by email. If you are accepted into the guild you will be a Recruit for four weeks from the date you receive your invite to the guild. During this time members and officers alike will be posting feedback about you in a thread on our forums that only they can see. If there are any problems that arise, you will be told so you can attempt to fix them before your trial period is up. After four weeks is up you will be put to a vote. At which point everyone in the guild (except recruits, alts, and friend-rank people) will vote Yes or No on you based on feedback in that thread, and your willingness and ability to improve if there were any problems. Once this vote is over you will be promoted or removed from the guild. If we are going to remove you, we will offer you a position as a friend-rank (this is a non-raiding rank) in the guild if you already know a current member, or if you’re just really adamant about sticking around. This is handled on a case by case basis, and the decision is at the discretion of the officers.
